Compact Driver With Built-In Positioning Function

Space Saving, Simple Wiring

The product requires no pulse generator and features a compact driver, saving equipment space and simplifying the system.

A Maximum of 63 Points of Operation Data

A maximum of 63 points of operation data can be set for the driver.
It is possible to set the mode to incremental (relative-distance specification) or absolute (absolute-position specification) for each piece of data.

3 Operating Patterns

Positioning Operation

Set the motor's operating speed and travel amount to the operation data, and operate the motor according to the selected operation data.

  • Linked Operation
When operation data is set to "Linked," the next data number can be positioned without stopping the motor.

    Linked operating pattern 1

Select data No. 01 → START input
Drives by linking data No. 1 to No. 3 in sequence without stopping the motor.

    Linked Operating Pattern 2

Select data No. 01 → START input
Once the operation is completed for data No. 1, it will stop for the set dwell time (*) and then perform the operation from data No. 2 to No. 03. Operation data can be linked for different rotation directions.

    • *Dwell time is the wait time until the next positioning operation is decided.
  • Sequential Operation
When operation data is set to "sequential positioning," positioning operation for the next data number is performed in sequence each time the START signal is input.

Speed Control Operation

The motor will run continuously while the FWD or RVS signal is input. Since the motor operates at the rotation speed of the preset operation data, multistep speed-change operation can be performed by changing the data number.

Speed Control Operation

Return-To-Home Operation

Since it is equipped with a return-to-home operation function, it is easy to return-to-home by wiring the sensor.

Useful Functions

  • STEPOUT Output Function
  • PLS-OUT output function
  • Group transmission function (RS-485 communication only)
  • Sensor input function
  • Teaching function

Low Vibration and Reduced Noise

Low Vibration and Reduced Noise Achieved by Microstep Drive

The basic step angle of the motor is divided into a maximum of 1/250 without using any mechanical element such as a speed reduction mechanism. This contributes to low vibration and noise reduction in the equipment.

Comparison of Vibration Characteristics

Smooth Drive Function for Enhanced Ease of Use

The smooth drive function is a control that automatically operates microstep drive using the same settings as for full step.

Motors With Encoders are Available

Using a motor with an encoder enables operations such as monitoring the present position and detecting position errors.
Doing this increases the reliability of the equipment.

Motors With Encoders are Available

STEPOUT output function

When the deviation between the driver’s command position and the encoder’s counter value reaches the setting value (deviation error), the STEPOUT signal is output. This makes it possible to detect position errors due to rapid changes in load when they occur.

Alarm Output Function*

If a deviation error occurs, the "Excessive position deviation" alarm occurs, and the motor stops.

Warning Output Function*

When a deviation error occurs, the "Excessive position deviation" warning is generated.
The motor will continue to operate.

  • *You can use parameters to set whether an alarm output or a warning is output when a deviation error occurs.

Application Example

It is possible to detect when the door cannot be operated to its normal position due to the presence of obstacles.

Opening and Closing the Door

Various Control Interfaces

The control method can be selected to suit the customer's operation system.

Connection With Other Manufacturers' Devices

Information about connecting Oriental Motor’s network converters to other companies' "touch screens" and "PLC network modules" is available here.
You can download screen samples and connection guides for the applicable manufacturer, and find information on communication cables that allow direct connection between Oriental Motor’s products and other manufacturers’ devices.
This can save time with program design and start-up, so we recommend it to you.
