Reduce the Number of Sensors and go Battery-free Thanks to the Mechanical Multi-turn Absolute Sensor

Cut down on external sensors, such as the home sensor, with the αSTEP AZ Series to reduce wiring and achieve a more compact configuration. The mechanical multi-turn absolute sensor (ABZO) retains position information even if the power supply shuts down due to an emergency stop or blackout during positioning operation. Because the sensor is mechanical, no battery is needed to retain the data. This means there’s no need to worry about the cost of batteries, problems arising during operation, or maintenance timing. The AZ Series motor itself also monitors the robot’s status with numerical data instead of a sensor. Mechanical Multi-turn Absolute Sensor

Ideal for Articulated Axes: Hollow Rotary Actuators and Small Geared Type

● Hollow Rotary Actuators DGII Series (Axis 1 and axis 2)
When a SCARA robot grasps a load at the tip of the arm separated from the first axis, a large amount of load moment is generated.
The DGII Series uses a cross-roller bearing in the hollow output table, allowing for permissible moment. This expands the moving range of the arm.
A hollow hole (through-hole) is also used for the complex cable wiring, thus simplifying equipment design.

● αSTEP AZ Series Harmonic Geared Type (Axis 3)

Even a small misalignment can become great at the tip of the arm, making it impossible to grasp the load accurately. The harmonic geared type is non-backlash, suppressing misalignments for accurate operation.

Compact, Lightweight Actuators that Reduce the Load at the Tip of the Robot Mechanism

● Compact Electric Cylinder DR Series (Axis 4)
The αSTEP AZ Series and ball screw are integrated into one compact body, contributing to smaller equipment and space saving. The lighter equipment tip can help improve freedom of design.

DR Series Size DR Series

● Electric Gripper EH Series (Axis 5)
A smaller and lighter end effector can reduce the burden of each articulation, contributing to a smaller and less expensive robot.
The position, gripping time, and gripping force of an electric gripper can be set as desired. This means a variety of gripping configurations are possible.
